Abstract
"Food is Art is Food: When Sustenance Becomes Entertainment" considers the intersections between food, anthropology, art, media and culture through examining various texts over the course of western history. This colloquium aims to investigate the ever-changing attitudes that humankind has towards food, in particular looking into the way food has evolved from mere, modest subsistence into entities infused with far more complex and profound implications. The discussion will be steered by the modern phenomenon of "gastroporn", or food pornography, which I maintain as a central reference point throughout this academic conference.
